North Carolina Bans Computer Equipment from Landfills
North Carolina passed a law to ban printers, computer equipment, and televisions from entering landfills, according to WBTV. The law will go into effect on July 1, 2011. “By capturing valuable materials for reuse, and reducing our dependence on landfills, electronics recycling can help us achieve both our environment and economic development goals,” said Dee Freeman, secretary for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. We’re glad to see North Carolina pass this law and make an effort to go All Green!
