How often do you buy a new phone?

Raise your hand if you don’t have a cell phone! Anyone?

In this era, not owning a mobile phone is a rarity. But how many of us have considered the environmental impact of this? Over 140 million mobile phones end up in landfills each year.

Think about it: Are you switching from AT&T to Verizon? You need to buy a new phone. Are you sticking with the same carrier? Congratulations, it’s time for a free upgrade. Did you drop your phone in a puddle? There’s a good chance you need a new one. Is a new iPhone coming out? Well we’ve got to start lining up for it now!

Did you pick a responsible recycler? Because if you didn’t, all of those old phones are sitting around in a landfill somewhere, poisoning our land, air, and water.

Remember to recycle responsibly everyone! There is no reason for 140 million cell phones to end up in landfills each year–not when companies like us will take them for free.
