New York e-waste law takes effect
Back in January, we said that a new e-waste law in New York will provide free electronics recycling to its residents. Well the day has finally come–New Yorkers can now recycle their electronics for free!
On April 1, 2011, the Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act went into effect. According to this law, manufacturers are required to take back old electronics free of charge, regardless of the brand. The products must then be either reused or recycled. Nothing can end up in landfills or hazardous waste sites.
We applaud New York for going All Green, and look forward to recycling there in the future!
