Google Invests in California Wind Farm

Google and CitiBank recently announced that they have teamed up to help finance the Alta Wind Energy Center in Kern County, California. Each company will invest $55 million in this project and will lease a portion back to developer Terra-Gen to operate. When complete, the wind farm will generate 1.5 gigawatts, which is enough to power 450,000 homes through Southern California Edison.

This brings Google’s clean energy investment total to over $400 million.
