Electronics Technician Job
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the electronics technician is to maximize our efficiency in testing, refurbishing, and preparing electronics for resale.

General Duties:
- Laptops are assembled from incomplete status to complete, tested to Bios
- Repairs non-working units to working status
- Refurbishes and installs operating system for high-value units
- PCs and servers are tested to Bios, audited by speed, RAM, make, model, and SN into inventory management software
- All hard drives are removed for wiping and replaced with an erased drive
- Builds and/or repairs incomplete/non-working PCs
- Refurbishes and installs operating system for high-value units
- Erases hard drives using NIST 800-88 standard wiping applications
- Tests and benchmarks components for resale
- Tests and reconditions printers
- Tests LCD monitors and flat-screen televisions
- Categorizes by testing results
- Test and erase cell phones, repair if possible
- Test consumer electronics (radios, cameras, video recorders, mp3 players, etc.) to verify functionality before resale
- Other duties as directed by management
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with different types of computer hardware and electronics
- Successful history of repairing items
- Knowledge of software such as Windows, Linux, Android, and other operating systems
- Mid-level knowledge of SQL or other database applications
Special Skills:
- A+ Certification highly desirable
- MSCE Certification a plus
- OEM Repair Certification (HP, Dell, Motorola, etc.) a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must have good range of motion for pulling and replacing parts
- Manual dexterity for working inside of computers and other electronics
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
