Texas television take-back bill advances

A bill that aims to establish a television take-back program in Texas recently passed out of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources by a unanimous vote. Senate Bill 329 proposes to make manufacturers—either individually or as part of a group—responsible for developing a recovery plan for covered items. Manufacturers will also have to pay a yearly registration fee of $2,500 to help offset the cost of the program. Retailers will be barred from selling products from manufacturers who choose not to participate in this program. You can read more about this topic here.
