Greenpeace Rates Greenest Electronics

Last week, Greenpeace released its third green electronics survey. At the top of the list was the Asus VW-247H-HF computer monitor, which scored 7.5/10. The Samsung Blue Earth mobile phone came in second place, with a score of 7.03/10.

There was an overall trend towards the reduction of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and brominated flame retardants (BFRs) in electronics. All of the mobile phones tested were PVC-free.

According to Greenpeace, manufacturer responsibility is the number one category that needs improvement—from the use of more recycled materials to successful take back programs.

We’re proud to see companies take a step towards being All Green!
